El Salvador has successfully concluded the “Capacity Building for Improvement and Specialization of Consumer Protection” program, a three-year initiative that ran from 2023 to 2025. The program aimed to strengthen the technical capacities of the country’s consumer protection agency, Defensoría del Consumidor, with international collaboration.
Supported by the Spanish Cooperation Agency (AECID) and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the initiative contributed to transforming consumer attention services across El Salvador. Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs highlighted the program’s impact, stating, “We celebrate the completion of a project that helped us provide more digital, efficient, and consumer-rights-centered attention to the Salvadoran population.”
The initiative promoted knowledge exchange and institutional strengthening that now positions El Salvador to respond more effectively to the needs of its citizens in an increasingly digital environment.
