Nayib Bukele Warns the World: Defending Criminals Is a Global Threat by Design.

Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele responded to recent comments made by Swedish citizen Evalina Hahne, who publicly criticized Swedish media for portraying him negatively despite his crackdown on organized crime. Hahne expressed frustration over how news outlets in her country framed Bukele’s efforts to improve public safety.

“Swedish media reports that Nayib Bukele has imprisoned 85,000 criminals. You’d think they’d applaud him for saving his country, but instead, they smear him, claiming a few are innocent. Media is the worst,” Hahne wrote on social media.

President Bukele replied directly to her post, warning that such media narratives may have broader consequences. “They want people to think that going after criminals is wrong, because they want those criminals to run rampant on Swedish streets and destroy your beautiful country from within. Just like they’re doing across much of the world. It’s all by design,” he stated on X.

Bukele’s security policies have drawn both praise and criticism internationally, but his direct engagement with foreign citizens continues to spark global debate.
