El Salvador continues its transformation, positioning itself as a safe, modern, and globally connected country. On July 19, the Puerto de La Libertad’s Tourist Pier became the vibrant setting of the Mole Fest Internacional 2025, a landmark festival that brought together 25 chefs from across the Americas to celebrate Latin American culinary identity, memory, and unity.
Part of the International Mole Route, the event seeks to connect flavors and cultures, strengthening bonds between nations. The arrival of this festival in El Salvador reflects the country’s growing international reputation as a host for high-level cultural events that attract tourism, investment, and development opportunities.
Tourism Minister Morena Valdez emphasized the role of food in attracting global visitors, stating, “Eighty percent of tourists around the world travel for a country’s cuisine, so imagine the importance of food in boosting tourism in El Salvador.”
Alejandra Durán, Executive Director of Corsatur, highlighted the pier’s strategic value: “Puerto de La Libertad is the most visited destination in the country. Today we are promoting this multi-destination—what better way to show what’s happening in El Salvador than through gastronomy?”
Led by Salvadoran chef David Najarro and inspired by the vision of Mole Route founder Ariosto Camacho, the festival offered a cross-cultural experience that united people through shared flavors and traditions.
Minister Valdez praised the chefs as true culinary artists and thanked the sponsors and organizers for making this unprecedented celebration on the Salvadoran coast possible.
With events like the Mole Fest Internacional 2025, El Salvador strengthens its place as a regional beacon where culture, flavor, and hospitality come together.
