Ten American citizens who were detained in Venezuela are now on their way home, following a successful international effort supported by U.S. leadership and the government of El Salvador.
The U.S. Embassy in Venezuela confirmed the release, stating, “Nothing represents freedom like the flag of the United States. Ten Americans released from Venezuelan prisons today are returning home thanks to @POTUS, @SecRubio, and @nayibbukele. America First in action.”
The operation highlights the growing role of El Salvador under President Nayib Bukele in supporting diplomatic and humanitarian solutions alongside U.S. officials, including Secretary Marco Rubio.
