El Salvador continues to energize its economy through strategic support for micro and small enterprises. Vice President Félix Ulloa Jr. attended the “CONAMYPE Somos Todos” event as guest of honor, where the Institutional Strategic Plan 2024–2029 was presented to the entire staff of the National Commission for Micro and Small Enterprises (CONAMYPE).
During his remarks, the Vice President underscored the vital role of micro and small businesses (MYPE) in the country’s economic development. “MYPEs are the heart of the national economy,” he said, referring to the thousands of entrepreneurs who contribute daily to El Salvador’s productive dynamism under President Nayib Bukele’s vision for inclusive growth.
Ulloa also emphasized the need to modernize public administration. “Our public servants must be prepared to implement modern public policies. That’s why we support the creation of the Higher School of Innovation and Public Administration (ESIAP) and strategic partnerships with companies like Google to strengthen the State,” he explained.
CONAMYPE President Paul Steiner highlighted that MYPEs provide jobs to 90% of the population. He noted that the newly presented strategic plan is not just a document but “a living tool, part of a virtual management and training system that aligns the entire institution with national development goals.”
For the first time, the plan was shared with CONAMYPE staff from across the country, from Ahuachapán to La Unión. Its goals include promoting organizational culture, innovation, and productivity, and ensuring institutional alignment with the nation’s economic agenda.
The event concluded with a tour of the Interactive Handicraft Development Center (CEDART), where Vice President Ulloa received a recognition from Juan Pablo Llort, son of celebrated Salvadoran artist Fernando Llort. The center exemplifies how cultural heritage, innovation, and technology can come together to empower artisanal MYPEs.
With this initiative, the government reaffirms its commitment to working alongside small enterprises to achieve the Economic Miracle.
