El Salvador Promotes Public Innovation Training for 21st-Century Municipalities.

El Salvador continues to advance its efforts in modernizing municipal governance with the completion of the specialized course “Innovation and Public Management for 21st-Century Municipalities,” led by the Metropolitan School in collaboration with INCIDEM, the Valladolid City Council, the Embassy of Spain in El Salvador (@EmbEsElSalvador), and the Pedagogical University.

The program focused on strengthening local governments through modules on Territorial Governance, Public Management Innovation, Planning and Development, Institutional Transformation, and Administrative Modernization. The initiative is part of El Salvador’s broader strategy to equip municipalities with tools for efficient, transparent, and future-ready governance.

Luis Rodríguez, former commissioner and public policy advisor, announced via social media that new diploma programs are already in development alongside INCIDEM. These upcoming courses will emphasize strategies tailored by municipality type, helping to enhance investment attraction, planning capacity, and sustainable social development at the local level.

This educational effort reflects El Salvador’s commitment to building stronger institutions, aligned with the country’s digital transformation and decentralization goals under the leadership of President Nayib Bukele.
