President Nayib Bukele released a video on social media platform X on Wednesday to commemorate the Day of the Salvadoran Soldier, delivering a tribute to the country’s military forces and their continued service.
In the video, Bukele praised the dedication of the nation’s soldiers throughout history. “Today we celebrate the work of thousands of men and women in our country, throughout history, with an unbreakable will to serve their homeland,” he said.
He highlighted the enduring legacy and evolving role of the Armed Forces. “This is a recognition for each one of you: for those who are here and for those who are not. The Salvadoran soldier represents bravery, determination, effort, sacrifice, and loyalty,” Bukele stated.
The president acknowledged the risks faced by service members and emphasized their unique sense of duty. “There are not many human beings who have within themselves the will to go toward danger to protect others,” he added.
Bukele concluded by affirming the military’s constitutional role and its expanding responsibilities in modern times. “This institution has a great history, a glorious and extensive history. But it is also building a new history,” he said. “May God bless our glorious Armed Forces. And may God bless our beloved country, El Salvador.”
