El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele has been ranked as the most approved head of state in the world, according to the latest survey published by Mexican pollster Mitofsky in collaboration with TResearch. The ranking, based on public opinion studies published in digital media throughout April, spans leaders from the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Australia.

Bukele secured a staggering 91% approval rating, leading the list of 42 global leaders. This recognition comes just weeks before he completes the first year of his second term in office. “In this special edition, Mitofsky, in collaboration with TResearch, presents the updated ranking of 20 leaders in the Americas and 22 leaders from Europe, Asia, and Australia,” the firm stated on its website.
Following Bukele in the global top five are Russian President Vladimir Putin (77%), Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi (73%), Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum (70%), and Dominican Republic’s Luis Abinader (65%).
“Although data collection methodologies may vary across countries, this exercise provides a clear snapshot of the political climate that world leaders are navigating and allows for direct comparison,” the polling firms noted.
In the Americas, Bukele also leads by a wide margin, outperforming Sheinbaum and Abinader, followed by Honduran President Xiomara Castro (64%) and Costa Rican President Rodrigo Chaves (54%). At the bottom of the regional list are Panama’s Raúl Mulino (31%), Venezuela’s Nicolás Maduro (29%), Chile’s Gabriel Boric (26%), Bolivia’s Luis Arce (24%), and Peru’s Dina Boluarte (4%).
The survey draws from electronic media polls conducted in 19 countries across the Americas, as well as 23 nations from Europe, Asia, and Australia, reflecting a broad spectrum of global public sentiment.
