EU Celebrates Europe Month in El Salvador with Cultural and Educational Activities.

The European Union (EU) has officially launched the celebration of Europe Month in El Salvador, bringing a wide array of cultural, educational, gastronomic, and sporting events to various parts of the country throughout May. The initiative aims to strengthen ties between the EU and the Salvadoran public by showcasing Europe’s diversity, values, and history.

«Europe Month is an opportunity to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation between El Salvador and the European Union, and to share the values of unity, peace, and solidarity that inspire the European Union,» stated EU Ambassador François Roudié during the launch.

Now in its 14th year, Europe Month reaffirms the EU’s commitment to promoting cultural exchange, mutual understanding, and strong bilateral relations with El Salvador. Key events include the European Film Festival, which will offer free outdoor screenings of contemporary European cinema in plazas and parks across the country.

“This month, I will be giving talks to students where we will talk about our Ukrainian brothers and sisters, our diversity, and have moments of celebration of film culture,” added Ambassador Roudié.

One of the most anticipated events is Europe Connects, scheduled for May 7. The program will highlight the EU’s cooperation in areas such as digital transformation, transportation, sustainable energy, entrepreneurship, violence prevention, and women’s empowerment in El Salvador.
