Ecuadorian Delegation Visits El Salvador to Study President Bukele’s Security Strategy.

El Salvador’s Minister of National Defense, René Francis Merino Monroy, received an official delegation from the Republic of Ecuador, led by Interior Minister John Reimberg and Defense Minister Gian Carlo Loffredo. The high-level visit aims to examine firsthand the security strategy implemented by President Nayib Bukele, which has garnered international attention for its unprecedented results.

During the meeting, Salvadoran officials outlined the key pillars of the country’s successful public safety model, which has significantly reduced crime rates and transformed the daily lives of millions of citizens who once lived under the threat of criminal organizations.

Central to this transformation has been the role of the Salvadoran Armed Forces (@FUERZARMADASV), whose collaboration with law enforcement has been instrumental in dismantling gang structures and restoring public order.

“This exchange strengthens regional ties and reflects a shared commitment to improving security and justice for our people,” said Minister Merino Monroy.

El Salvador’s experience is increasingly viewed as a regional benchmark, and the meeting reaffirms both nations’ dedication to continued cooperation in public safety and strategic defense.
