A new group of Salvadoran workers is set to depart for Canada today as part of the Labor Migration Program promoted by the Government of President Nayib Bukele. The initiative, led by the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (MTPS), aims to offer legal, safe, and well-paid employment opportunities abroad for Salvadorans seeking better futures.

“This Wednesday, dozens of Salvadorans will begin a new chapter in their lives. Thanks to the Labor Migration Program, they will travel to Canada with decent and well-paid jobs. At the Ministry of Labor, we continue working with dedication for those who need it most,” stated the Ministry.

Officials emphasized that this opportunity ensures full legal protections and benefits provided by Canadian labor law, while also removing the risks typically associated with irregular migration.

“The dream becomes reality! More Salvadoran families will transform their lives with dignified jobs in Canada, all through legal, orderly, and safe channels. The Salvadorans traveling to Canada have access to all labor benefits,” added the MTPS.

The program has helped many participants achieve significant life goals, such as building their own homes or saving enough to start small businesses. Since its inception in 2019, the Labor Migration Program has benefited over 11,000 Salvadorans with secure job placements in the United States, Canada, and Spain.
