DHS Confirms Deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia Due to Gang Ties and Violent History.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has reaffirmed the deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran national with a history of violence and verified gang affiliation. Despite certain media outlets referring to him as a “Maryland man,” Garcia is neither a U.S. citizen nor eligible to remain in the country.
According to DHS, Garcia is an MS-13 gang member—a designation also confirmed by two separate U.S. judges, whose rulings remain legally unchallenged. The Department issued a public clarification through its official X (formerly Twitter) account, @DHSgov, citing serious security concerns tied to Garcia’s record.
Former Florida Attorney General Pamela Bondi also addressed the issue, stating, @AGPamBondi:
“This is not a ‘Maryland man.’ This is an illegal alien from El Salvador whom two judges have ruled is part of MS-13, a foreign terrorist organization. El Salvador doesn’t want to give him back—nor do we want him back.”
Further details were shared by political strategist Tricia McLaughlin on @TriciaOhio, who outlined the following:
Garcia was arrested with large sums of cash and illegal drugs.
He was apprehended alongside two other MS-13 members.
He wore symbols recognized as part of MS-13’s uniform at the time of his arrest.
Garcia’s domestic record includes allegations of violence against his wife, who filed a restraining order citing assault, scratching, and other aggressive behavior.
This case sheds light on the complex intersection between immigration enforcement and transnational organized crime. It also raises questions about media framing of criminal suspects with known gang affiliations and deportation orders.
As U.S. authorities move forward with enforcement, the ongoing cooperation—or resistance—from El Salvador adds another layer to a case that continues to attract national attention.
DHS maintains that Garcia’s deportation to El Salvador was consistent with legal procedures, citing his gang involvement and history of violence. The agency criticizes media outlets for omitting these details, potentially misrepresenting the circumstances surrounding his removal.
As discussions continue regarding immigration enforcement and public safety, DHS reaffirms its commitment to upholding the law and ensuring accurate information dissemination.
