Brazilian Business Leaders Consider Expansion into El Salvador.

A delegation from the Rio de Janeiro Trade Association is visiting El Salvador to explore investment opportunities in tourism, infrastructure, and call centers. The mission, facilitated by El Salvador’s Embassy in Brazil, includes visits to key development areas and meetings with government and private sector representatives.

During a meeting with Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Adriana Mira, she assured the delegation of the government’s support, stating, “Rio de Janeiro has vast experience in tourism, and their interest in El Salvador speaks to the great work President Bukele has done in positioning our country globally.”

El Salvador’s ambassador to Brazil, Luis Aparicio, emphasized the delegation’s strong interest, saying, “They have met with key government agencies and are fully open to investing in our country.” He also highlighted plans to coordinate investments with Brazil’s Embassy in El Salvador.

Among the delegates is Savio Neves, president of Rio de Janeiro’s Corcovado Train. He praised El Salvador’s growing tourism industry and improved security, stating, “With nearly 4 million foreign tourists last year, the potential here is incredible.” He also noted that “security is the number one condition for tourism,” and El Salvador has successfully met this requirement.

Neves added that the visit exceeded expectations, and while projects still need further study, potential investments could include a cable car, an aquarium, or other tourism ventures.
