San Salvador’s Historic Center to Host Day 2 of Tour El Salvador 2025.

Tonight, San Salvador’s Historic Center will host the second day of the 2025 Tour El Salvador, featuring the Prologue, a two-kilometer time trial that marks the official start of the competition’s timed stages.

In preparation for this internationally renowned event, the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation (MOPT) and the Vice Ministry of Transportation (VMT) have announced temporary closures of several streets in the area. Vehicle and pedestrian restrictions will begin at 7 p.m. around the National Palace, the Metropolitan Cathedral, Plaza Morazán, and other surrounding streets.

Vice Minister of Transportation Nelson Reyes stated that, in addition to vehicle restrictions, designated lanes have been established to prevent pedestrian traffic within the circuit, ensuring the safety of both athletes and spectators.

The 2025 Tour El Salvador gathers over 120 cyclists from 30 different nationalities, covering more than 1,000 kilometers over ten days of competition. Swiss champion Elena Hartmann is among the notable athletes participating in this edition.

The competition commenced yesterday with the Grand Prix El Boquerón and will continue until April 10, with various stages taking place across the country.
