The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) has announced a donation of $725,000 to the Agromarkets Project, an initiative led by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG) aimed at enhancing the marketing and distribution of agricultural products in El Salvador. The funds will be allocated for the purchase of transportation equipment to improve food distribution efficiency across the country.
CABEI’s director in El Salvador, Alejandro Zelaya, emphasized that this contribution aligns with the bank’s commitment to fostering economic and social development in the region. «By supporting initiatives like Agromarkets, we are directly benefiting local producers and consumers while reinforcing the agricultural sector’s role in national growth,» stated Zelaya.

Minister of Agriculture Óscar Domínguez highlighted that the Agromarkets Project plays a crucial role in reducing distribution costs, ensuring affordable food prices for families, and strengthening domestic agricultural production.
«With this support, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock will enhance its logistics and transportation capacity, enabling local producers to market their products more efficiently. This not only benefits farmers but also promotes food security and economic stability in El Salvador,» Minister Domínguez explained.
This investment in transportation infrastructure is expected to incentivize domestic production and create a more robust and accessible agricultural market, ultimately improving the livelihoods of thousands of Salvadoran families.
