El Salvador and Guatemala are making progress on the expansion of the La Hachadura border highway to four lanes and the construction of a new binational bridge. The project aims to improve trade and connectivity between the two nations.
Salvadoran Minister of Public Works Romeo Herrera met with Guatemala’s Minister of Communications, Infrastructure, and Housing, Miguel Ángel Díaz Bobadilla, to oversee roadwork on the Guatemalan side.

The upgraded highway will ease congestion and benefit thousands of commuters and transporters. This initiative is part of El Salvador’s broader effort to modernize infrastructure, promising a more efficient border crossing in the near future.
