New Immigration Office at El Salvador Airport Issues Passports for Travelers.

Salvadorans traveling through San Óscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez International Airport now have a convenient new option for passport issuance. On Tuesday, the General Directorate of Immigration and Foreign Affairs opened an office at the airport to provide passports to travelers facing last-minute document issues.

The service is designed to assist Salvadorans who may have forgotten their passports or whose documents have expired, preventing them from boarding their flights. Previously, affected travelers had to return to government offices in the city to resolve such issues, often missing their flights as a result.

On its first day of operation, the new office successfully issued passports to travelers, allowing Salvadoran families to continue with their travel plans without major disruptions. For now, the office is exclusively offering passport issuance services.

This initiative aims to streamline travel processes and reduce inconvenience for Salvadoran citizens, enhancing the efficiency of immigration services at the country’s main international gateway.
