A group of Vietnamese tourists recently visited El Salvador, exploring various destinations as a result of the country’s promotion by the Salvadoran Embassy in Vietnam. The visit marks a significant step in strengthening tourism ties between the two nations.

During their stay, the visitors explored the Los Volcanes National Park, the UNESCO World Heritage Site Joya de Cerén Archaeological Park, the scenic Ruta de Las Flores, the Historic Center of San Salvador, and the BINAES cultural complex.
Hieu, a first-time visitor from Vietnam, shared his positive experience: “It was an excellent experience. Since our arrival, we’ve been treated very well. We climbed the Santa Ana volcano, enjoyed the pleasant weather, and felt welcomed by the attentive people.”

The arrival of Vietnamese tourists stems from the embassy’s participation in the 2024 International Tourism Fair held in Hanoi from April 11 to 14, where key connections were made with Vietnamese and international tourism companies. Additionally, in September, the embassy organized a business meeting with Vietnamese tour operators, supported by VITA, Vietnam’s leading tourism association, to promote El Salvador’s destinations.
A scouting visit in October 2024 by a Vietnamese tour operator further evaluated El Salvador’s tourism potential, paving the way for the current visit. A third Vietnamese tourist group is expected in the coming months, reflecting growing interest in El Salvador as an emerging destination.
This milestone not only reinforces El Salvador’s position on the international tourism map but also strengthens bilateral relations, opening new opportunities for the country’s tourism sector and economic development.
