El Salvador continues to solidify its diplomatic relations with Europe as Vice President Félix Ulloa Jr. and a delegation of deputies participated in the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly’s Board of Directors session at the National Palace.

Vice President Ulloa welcomed the officials in what he described as a safe environment, emphasizing the country’s significant security progress, with over 845 days without homicides. He reaffirmed the Salvadoran government’s commitment to fostering dialogue and strengthening diplomatic relations.
In his address, Ulloa highlighted President Nayib Bukele’s firm stance on neutrality, respect for sovereignty, and international solidarity. He underscored the relevance of the meeting in addressing key global issues such as environmental challenges, peace, and migration. Additionally, he stressed the importance of preparing society for the impact of artificial intelligence and the challenges of the fifth industrial revolution.
Latin American Co-President Carlos Hernández described the session as the beginning of a new cycle of cooperation rooted in justice and democracy. Meanwhile, European Co-President Gabriel Mato emphasized that the ties uniting both regions are stronger than their differences, reinforcing the need for continued bi-regional collaboration.

The event was attended by high-ranking officials, including Ernesto Castro, President of the Salvadoran Legislative Assembly, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Adriana Mira, and members of the diplomatic corps accredited in the country. 🇸🇻🤝🇪🇺
