The Government of El Salvador, in partnership with the private sector, has launched Lácteos de El Salvador, a brand designed to promote high-quality, locally produced dairy products at competitive prices. This initiative aims to strengthen the national dairy industry, making milk production more technical and facilitating exports of Salvadoran dairy products.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG), the project is a collaborative effort between the public and private sectors, ensuring that Salvadorans have access to fresh, safe, and high-quality dairy products. The initiative also supports the entire dairy supply chain, from livestock farmers to processing plants and consumers, improving industry sustainability.
Key elements of the project include:
✅ Ensuring processing plants buy raw materials at fair prices.
✅ Offering nutritional plans and genetic improvements to increase quality «A» milk production.
✅ Strengthening the connection between farmers, producers, and retailers.
Lorena Heredia, Executive Director of the Salvadoran Association of Livestock Farmers and Milk Processors (Asileche), emphasized that Lácteos de El Salvador is a distinctive brand that represents authentic Salvadoran dairy products. «By placing a brand from El Salvador, we are offering a quality product with the highest safety standards, directly available to consumers,» she stated.
The initiative is open to any company meeting the required quality standards, with four companies from Asileche already participating in production. Products under the Lácteos de El Salvador brand are now available at Súper Selectos, supporting both local farmers and the national dairy industry. 🥛🇸🇻
