El Salvador hosted the 20th edition of the Parents and Children Business Meeting, welcoming business leaders from over 20 countries to the Presidential House. Among the attendees was Mexican businessman Carlos Slim.
President Nayib Bukele and First Lady Gabriela de Bukele led the gathering, emphasizing El Salvador’s progress in security and its growing investment potential. “It is worth investing in El Salvador,” Bukele stated, highlighting the country’s transformation from one of the most dangerous in the world to the safest in the Western Hemisphere.
Bukele stressed that El Salvador has removed obstacles to investment, reduced excessive regulations, and created a more business-friendly environment. “Now we can grow faster, offer better infrastructure, and generate a fertile ground for companies,” he said.
The president also pointed to the country’s rising tourism industry as proof of its progress but noted that further economic diversification is needed in construction, agriculture, and services. “That is the challenge we face,” he concluded, thanking business leaders for choosing El Salvador as the event’s host country.
