The Salvadoran Chamber of Construction (@CASALCOsv) is hosting the Building the Future Congress, focusing on High-Rise Buildings: Challenges for Seismic Engineering in El Salvador. The event brings together key industry leaders to discuss the country’s evolving construction landscape.
Rafael Menéndez, Vice President of Real Estate Developers at CASALCO, delivered the welcoming remarks, emphasizing the sector’s progress. He noted that approximately 20 high-rise buildings, both residential and commercial, are currently under construction, signaling strong investor confidence.

Luis Rodríguez, Director of @COAMSS_OPAMSS, highlighted that improvements in security and increased public investment have driven growth in the construction sector. He also stated that his institution has been restructured to operate more efficiently and facilitate investments, strengthening its collaboration with CASALCO.

Rodríguez further revealed that five projects exceeding 35 floors are in the approval and execution phases, representing an estimated investment of $750 million. Meanwhile, Menéndez welcomed El Salvador’s recent $1.4 billion agreement with the IMF, describing it as a positive development that enhances investor confidence.
With ongoing high-rise projects and improved conditions for investment, El Salvador is positioning itself as an emerging hub for urban development in the region.
