In response to the growing interest of foreign companies in expanding their operations in El Salvador, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Adriana Mira, recently met with representatives of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Mexico. During the meeting, Mira presented the wide range of opportunities available for trade exchanges and investments in El Salvador.
Speaking before a large business audience, the diplomat highlighted the country’s numerous advantages, positioning El Salvador as the top destination in the region for launching productive projects, business ventures, and commercial partnerships.
“El Salvador continues to strengthen its position as the ideal location for establishing, operating, and expanding investments, as well as the best partner for fostering more dynamic trade flows,” Mira stated.
She emphasized the various incentives available to companies interested in entering the Salvadoran market, including preferential access to major global markets, a skilled workforce, and the country’s strategic geographic location. Additionally, Mira pointed out El Salvador’s cost-effective outcomes, robust logistical connectivity, favorable business environment, supportive legal framework, and ongoing advancements in security, innovation, and development.
Regarding export opportunities, Mira noted that Japan is the leading importer of El Salvador’s high-quality coffee in Asia. Recent years have also seen increased exports of textiles and footwear, with this meeting paving the way for expanding and diversifying Salvadoran products in the Japanese market.
Sectors of potential interest to Japanese companies include aerospace, food and beverages, digital assets, software development, electrical equipment, automotive parts, medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, and tourism.
“El Salvador is open to the world, offering remarkable business opportunities that benefit all parties involved. These initiatives aim to further drive our economic growth and improve the well-being of our population,” the Vice Minister added.
Mira also discussed the possibility of establishing cooperative relations to bolster El Salvador’s efforts in economic, technological, educational, and innovative fields.
The meeting took place in Mexico City, organized with the support of El Salvador’s diplomatic mission in Mexico.
