El Salvador recorded an increase in its exports at the start of the year, reaching $545.7 million in January, surpassing the $531.1 million reported during the same month in 2024, according to official data.
The growth was driven by key sectors, including food products, apparel, manufacturing, plastics, and paper, which together contributed an additional $14.6 million compared to the previous year.
Food exports led the way with $106.5 million, followed by apparel sales at $82.9 million. The manufacturing industry contributed $57.2 million, while plastics and paper reached $52 million and $34.4 million, respectively.
The United States and Central American countries continued to be El Salvador’s largest trading partners, reflecting the country’s ongoing regional and international commercial ties.
