El Salvador has taken a significant step in strengthening its international relations by securing key cooperation agreements with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in security, trade, and culture. The agreements were reached during the World Government Summit in Dubai, where Vice President Félix Ulloa represented the Salvadoran government.

Ulloa highlighted El Salvador’s transformation under President Nayib Bukele’s leadership, emphasizing advancements in public security and economic development. Among the notable agreements, Salvadoran police officers will receive fully funded training in the UAE, following a meeting between Ulloa and the UAE’s Police Director.

Trade was another focal point, with discussions held with the UAE’s Minister of Commerce to expand business opportunities and boost El Salvador’s economy. This aligns with Bukele’s six-phase economic strategy, three of which—Food, Technology, and Logistics—are already in progress.
Additionally, cultural collaboration is set to grow, as El Salvador and the UAE prepare for an exchange of artistic and cultural expressions. The Salvadoran Coffee Institute also seized the opportunity to promote the country’s renowned coffee in international markets.
Looking ahead, further political consultations are planned, with the UAE’s Minister of International Cooperation set to visit El Salvador in August to formalize agreements. Foreign Minister Alexandra Hill Tinoco will also travel to the UAE to strengthen diplomatic ties.
“This summit allowed El Salvador to showcase its transformation to the world,” Ulloa stated. “It has positioned our country on the global stage, reinforcing our commitment to security, economic growth, and international cooperation.”
With these new agreements, El Salvador continues its push toward a stronger global presence and economic resurgence.
