Over 30 Salvadoran women and children received life-changing surgeries and advanced medical procedures thanks to a specialized team from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) of Saudi Arabia.
The medical brigade’s visit reflects the strong ties of friendship and cooperation between Saudi Arabia and El Salvador. Their efforts supported local healthcare initiatives aimed at improving the well-being and quality of life for Salvadorans.

The team focused on gyneco-oncological, pediatric urological, and orthopedic cases, conducting procedures at the Zacamil National Hospital, the Benjamín Bloom Children’s Hospital, and others. Salvadoran healthcare professionals collaborated with the Saudi specialists, gaining valuable knowledge and experience.
“These are high-level surgeries performed by top-notch professionals. Their support enhances our capabilities to manage complex cases and improve daily life for our patients,” said Douglas Martí, head of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Zacamil Hospital.

Dr. Rami Khalifa, a gyneco-oncology expert from KSRelief, emphasized, “We are here to share expertise and introduce innovative techniques, helping to support health initiatives in other countries.”
This marks the second KSRelief medical mission to El Salvador in recent months. In September, a team provided cardiovascular treatments at Rosales National Hospital.
Deputy Foreign Minister Adriana Mira highlighted the significance of this collaboration: “We deeply appreciate their support. These initiatives improve access to advanced medical care, strengthen our talent pool, and, most importantly, offer hope to Salvadoran families.”

The initiative also involved Health Minister Francisco Alabi, representatives from the First Lady’s Office, and Saudi diplomats. It underscores the growing partnership between El Salvador and Saudi Arabia, solidified by the opening of El Salvador’s diplomatic mission in Saudi Arabia last year.
