The International Surfing Association (ISA) and Surf City El Salvador have established a landmark partnership to host six major surfing events over the next three years. This collaboration strengthens El Salvador’s position as a premier surfing destination, with events including the World Longboard Surfing Championship (April 18-24, 2025) and the World Surfing Games (September 5-14, 2025).
Under President Nayib Bukele, El Salvador has attracted surfers worldwide. The ISA will support local surf schools and certify national judges, enhancing the country’s surfing infrastructure.
Tourism Minister Morena Valdez highlighted the partnership’s impact on El Salvador’s tourism and surf culture, while ISA President Fernando Aguerre expressed pride in the continued collaboration, emphasizing El Salvador’s world-class waves and their significance for the global surfing community.
