The governments of El Salvador and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas have officially signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing economic opportunities, cooperation, mobility, and connectivity between the two nations.
The agreement, the result of several months of collaboration between civil aviation authorities and foreign ministries from both countries, seeks to foster closer ties that will invigorate commercial and business relations, tourism, cultural exchanges, and other shared interests.
“This agreement symbolizes our shared commitment to building bridges that connect our nations, not only physically but also through values of cooperation, development, and mutual progress. Air transport will serve as a vehicle for mobility and a catalyst for new opportunities and mutual benefits,” said Adriana Mira, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of El Salvador, during the signing ceremony.
Vice Minister Mira emphasized that the partnership lays the groundwork for the inclusion of airlines from both countries under principles of equality and reciprocity. This will expand their international reach, opening new business opportunities in tourism, trade, and the transport of people and goods.
“We are projecting towards a future where our nations are closer, where opportunities for collaboration and mutual development multiply, and where our bilateral relations continue to grow for the benefit of our people,” she added.
The memorandum was signed by Homero Morales, Executive Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of El Salvador, who highlighted the agreement’s value in advancing the aviation sectors of both countries.
On behalf of the Bahamas, the agreement was signed by Ambassador Sebastian J. Bastian, who noted that this collaboration marks the beginning of a promising partnership with significant potential for joint progress.
