El Salvador continues its ambitious push to position itself as a prime destination for new capital investments, with expectations of significant inflows from various sectors this year. Carmen Aída Muñoz, the executive director of the American Chamber of Commerce in El Salvador (AmCham), shared this optimistic forecast in a recent interview with “Diario El Salvador.”.
Muñoz highlighted that 2025 is poised to witness a wave of U.S. investments drawn to the business-friendly environment fostered by President Nayib Bukele’s administration and the country’s enhanced security. “There is considerable progress in the international projection of the country, which is attracting the interest of new investors. This is a positive development, evident in the arrival of new companies,” she remarked.
Key sectors such as technology, education, and tourism are expected to lead the charge, with major enterprises set to integrate into the national economic framework. Muñoz noted a “rapid transformation” in the country, which has been well-received by investors.
The sectors of call centers, logistics, and services are also experiencing significant growth. With planned expansions, the call center industry alone aims to create approximately 11,000 new jobs in 2025, following the generation of over 9,000 jobs by the end of 2024.
Investors are increasingly viewing El Salvador as a stable and promising investment destination, contrasting with the political and security challenges faced by other countries in the region. “Feedback from investors suggests that El Salvador is seen as a good place to invest, with stability and consistent economic policies,” Muñoz stated.
Key legislative frameworks, such as the Law for the Promotion of Innovation and Technological Manufacturing (TEC), along with the government’s collaboration with the private sector to facilitate trade and digitize state services, have been crucial in this investment surge. The digitalization of processes, which allows for online transactions and saves time, is particularly appealing to investors.
Reflecting on the past year, Muñoz described 2024 as promising, with the country’s development opportunities bolstered by its secure environment. As El Salvador continues to attract international attention, the outlook for 2025 appears brighter than ever.
