A delegation of specialist doctors from India has arrived in El Salvador to support the healthcare services provided at the National Hospital “Dr. Juan José Fernández” in the Zacamil neighborhood of Mejicanos. This initiative is part of an ongoing collaboration between the governments of India and El Salvador to enhance medical care and exchange expertise.

During their stay, the team will work alongside local healthcare professionals in various specialties, including gynecology, obstetrics, family medicine, cardiology, internal medicine, geriatrics, sleep medicine, and otolaryngology. In addition to their medical services, the mission has brought a supply of medications for patients in need, aiming to strengthen the hospital’s capacity to deliver high-quality care.
This visit, organized by the AAPI Charitable Foundation, underscores the strong friendship and cooperation between the two nations. At the welcoming ceremony, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Adriana Mira highlighted the significance of this partnership, emphasizing the shared commitment to improving health and well-being through international collaboration. “This effort demonstrates the power of international cooperation, showcasing our shared vision for joint progress,” she stated.

Vice Minister of Health Management and Development Carlos Alvarenga also acknowledged the initiative’s impact, noting that the Zacamil hospital serves approximately 1.5 million people from the northern and central regions of the country, who will benefit directly from this collaboration.
Manoj Kumar Mahopatra, the Indian ambassador to El Salvador, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to deepen bilateral ties through such initiatives. He reiterated that these activities are pivotal in strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
This medical mission represents a significant step in enhancing El Salvador’s healthcare services and fostering a stronger relationship between India and El Salvador.
