El Salvador Launches AI and Robotics Program in Public Schools.

The Bitcoin Office and ARK Educate are set to roll out an artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics program in public high schools at the end of January, as announced by the institution through an official statement.

The program will initially target 20 public high schools, marking a significant step in integrating advanced technology into the national education system. This initiative, first unveiled in November 2024, was highlighted by Stacey Herbert, spokesperson for the Bitcoin Office, who confirmed that the program would be implemented in 2025.

Herbert attributed the project to a strategic meeting between President Nayib Bukele and Cathie Wood, CEO of ARK Invest, emphasizing its importance in fostering technological education in the country.

This program launch is part of the broader achievements of the Bitcoin Office, which is celebrating its second year of operation. In 2024, the institution trained and certified 80,000 public servants and educated high school students through two bitcoin programs, “My First Bitcoin” and “Node Nation.”

Additionally, the Bitcoin Office has played a pivotal role in attracting investors, builders, and entrepreneurs to El Salvador. It facilitated engagements with other cryptocurrency business leaders, bolstering the nation’s economic and technological landscape.

In 2024, El Salvador also strengthened its bitcoin reserves, acquiring 6,000 bitcoins, which positions the country among the six largest bitcoin holders globally, according to the Bitcoin Office.

This initiative underscores El Salvador’s commitment to becoming a global leader in cryptocurrency and technology education, paving the way for future innovations and economic growth.
