As part of its commitment to boost economic growth, the Government of El Salvador is supporting emerging businesses and innovative ventures. Eleven Salvadoran startups have been sponsored to participate in the 2024 Web Summit in Lisbon, Portugal—one of the world’s largest technology events, which brings together thousands of specialists and companies from across the globe. This event offers a valuable platform for El Salvador’s tech industry to showcase its latest projects, aiming to secure trade and business opportunities and establish connections that could help propel these ventures to new heights.

The participation of Salvadoran entrepreneurs was coordinated by the Ministry of Economy, the Investment and Export Agency of El Salvador (INVEST), the Embassy of El Salvador in Portugal, and Impact Hub San Salvador. “It’s essential to have our talent present at the Web Summit, showcasing their skills and innovative projects,” stated Rhina Bardi, El Salvador’s ambassador to Portugal.
Alongside the summit, the Embassy hosted a networking event at its headquarters, connecting Salvadoran entrepreneurs with Portuguese businesspeople and members of the Salvadoran diaspora. “Through these actions, we aim to attract exchange and investment to El Salvador via innovative business models,” said Ambassador Bardi.
