El Salvador Prepares for National Pupusa Day Celebrations and Record-Breaking Festival.

In Olocuilta, La Paz, excitement is building as preparations are underway for the XX Pupusa Festival, set for this Saturday and Sunday, November 9-10. The highlight of the festival will be the creation of the world’s largest pupusa, a tradition that has drawn crowds from across the country and beyond.

Simultaneously, the government of President Nayib Bukele will celebrate National Pupusa Day with a vibrant festival at Parque Natural Balboa on Sunday, November 10. The Salvadoran Institute of Tourism (ISTU) invites the public to join the festivities from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the scenic location in Los Planes de Renderos, Panchimalco.

The event will feature a range of family-friendly activities, including a children’s zone, a “Create Your Own Pupusa” workshop, painting sessions, games, and a historical exhibition on the beloved Salvadoran dish. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Orquesta de Centros Penales and the Orquesta Latina, promising lively performances to get everyone singing and dancing.

This National Pupusa Day promises to be a memorable celebration of Salvadoran culture, flavor, and community, bringing together locals and tourists alike to honor one of El Salvador’s most cherished culinary traditions.
