Zacamil Hospital celebrated the inauguration of a new 24/7 pediatric emergency area today, marking a milestone in El Salvador’s healthcare transformation to ensure high-quality care for children. This project, spearheaded by the Office of the First Lady, Gabriela de Bukele, aims to guarantee the health and well-being of the nation’s youngest patients.
The new facility features a high-priority emergency unit, procedure rooms, neonatal care for both internal and external patients, an Intermediate Care Unit (UCIN), and a maternal shelter, among other essential services. The area is designed to provide specialized medical attention to thousands of children, making vital healthcare more accessible.
This advancement supports the Crecer Juntos (Growing Together) and Nacer con Cariño (Born with Care) laws, initiatives led by the First Lady to foster integral development from early childhood.
With advanced technology and highly trained staff, Zacamil Hospital’s pediatric emergency area is set to be a critical resource for Salvadoran families, ensuring children receive dedicated, round-the-clock care.
