No Room for Regrouping: Minister Monrroy Promises Strong Response to Gangs.

Prepared to Respond, El Salvador’s Commitment to Prevent Gang Resettlement and Authorities Maintain Vigilant Presence Against Gang Activity.

Minister of Defense Merino Monrroy announced that authorities are prepared to respond decisively to any attempts by gang members to regroup in areas secured by military fences. In an interview with a local news outlet, Monrroy emphasized that security forces will remain in place until there are no signs of gang activity in the designated zones.

«In all the previous fences, we maintain a permanent presence. The fences remain until the police confirm that there are no indications of gang members in the area,» Monrroy stated. He reassured the public that the authorities are well-acquainted with the tactics used by criminals when a security cordon is established.

Monrroy highlighted the ongoing military and police intelligence operations aimed at identifying gang presence across the country. These efforts have yielded precise information, enabling effective monitoring of criminal behavior. The minister also credited citizen reporting as a crucial component in validating this intelligence, particularly in the 10 de Octubre neighborhood of San Marcos, where recent operations led to the arrest of four individuals.

«We are prepared to act if they try to settle again,» Monrroy declared, reaffirming the government’s commitment to maintaining security and combating gang activity in El Salvador.
