The Salvadoran government is enhancing its services for citizens abroad, prioritizing the needs of the diaspora under the leadership of President Nayib Bukele. In a new initiative, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Registry Center (CNR) are expediting procedures related to the legalization of properties in El Salvador.
“This partnership with the CNR is crucial as it aims to improve consular services using information technology. This effort will ensure that property-related procedures are swift, efficient, and secure, making the process more accessible for our compatriots,” stated Cindy Portal, Vice Minister of Diaspora and Human Mobility.
Portal emphasized that the initiative aligns with President Bukele’s vision and existing legal frameworks. The new system will allow technical teams to access online documents, maps, and cadastral records, streamlining property transactions for Salvadorans abroad.
“The new system strengthens the legal security of the diaspora by providing notarial documents for property transfers,” added Portal. “This is essential for those who wish to verify the legal status of their properties in real time.”
Camilo Trigueros, Executive Director of the CNR, praised the collaboration, noting that over 100 diplomatic offices will now offer property status consultations for Salvadorans abroad, bringing essential services closer to the diaspora.
