Vice President Félix Ulloa represented El Salvador at the VII World Peace Forum, in Normandy, France emphasizing the country’s remarkable strides in security under President Nayib Bukele’s leadership. In a virtual message, Ulloa declared, “The results are visible. Our country is now the safest nation in America, with a rate of 2 per 100,000 inhabitants in 2024.”
The forum aims to foster international dialogue and raise awareness about global challenges, and Ulloa used the platform to discuss key issues such as tourism, the Special Law for Municipal Restructuring, and regional cooperation in combating security threats and drug trafficking.
Under Bukele’s guidance, El Salvador has emerged as a model for security in Latin America and the Caribbean. Ulloa highlighted the unprecedented sense of safety and freedom now present in the country, echoing the President’s remarks at the United Nations General Assembly: “Today, we are a refuge of security and freedom in a world that is increasingly losing its way.”
The Vice President expressed gratitude to forum organizers and participants, including Hervé Morin, President of the World Forum, and Mario Otero, Director General of Foreign Relations of the Vice Presidency, who also represented El Salvador at the event.
El Salvador’s transformation into a benchmark for peace and security continues to draw international attention, positioning the nation as a key player in global discussions on safety and cooperation.
