During the United Nations General Assembly, El Salvador and Uruguay formalized an air transport agreement aimed at expanding business and tourism opportunities between the two countries.
This agreement will facilitate operations between both nations, opening the door to new flight routes. It also aims to strengthen bilateral relations through the increased movement of people and goods.
“This is a valuable opportunity to boost commercial exchanges, investment, and the flow of travelers to our country,” said El Salvador’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Adriana Mira, who signed the agreement alongside her Uruguayan counterpart, Nicolás Albertoni.
Mira emphasized that the agreement aligns with President Nayib Bukele’s open skies policy, which seeks to enhance the country’s connectivity with international destinations, promoting business ventures, productive projects, and tourism.
Additionally, the agreement offers potential for further development of El Salvador’s burgeoning aeronautics industry, a sector the current administration is prioritizing as part of its economic growth strategy.
“El Salvador views air transport as a critical driver for various productive sectors. This agreement paves the way for new investments in aviation, tourism, and job creation, all within a secure and stable legal framework,” concluded Deputy Foreign Minister Mira.
