From September 2 to 5, the capital of El Salvador is hosting the 2024 Global Policy Forum (GPF), the most important event organized by the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI). This prestigious forum will bring together over 86 institutions from 82 countries, according to a recent announcement by El Salvador’s Central Reserve Bank (BCR).
“The BCR is proud to co-host the 2024 AFI Global Policy Forum, demonstrating its commitment to advancing financial inclusion in El Salvador,” the state institution shared on its official X account.
Since joining the AFI in 2012, the BCR has been a strong advocate for financial inclusion through key initiatives. One of the featured speakers at this year’s forum will be Ariff Ali, Governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji and Chair of AFI’s Board of Directors.
The AFI is the world’s leading organization in financial inclusion regulation and policy, comprising over 120 policymakers and institutions dedicated to developing the potential of the world’s 2 billion unbanked people.
This week in San Salvador, the forum is addressing these economic philosophies, alongside challenges and solutions in financial inclusion, according to the BCR.
