In a significant move towards enhancing its anti-corruption measures, El Salvador is hosting a pivotal training workshop for government experts, marking the second cycle of the Mechanism for the Review of the Implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UN-Vienna Convention). The event features a distinguished delegation from the Supreme Court of El Salvador (@CorteSupremaSV), the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (@TEG_ElSalvador), and the Secretariat for Compliance and Continuous Improvement.

The workshop aims to fortify the expertise of government officials, equipping them with essential skills to effectively address and navigate future evaluations of the country’s anti-corruption strategies. This initiative is part of El Salvador’s ongoing commitment to bolster its regulatory frameworks and reinforce its stance against corruption.

Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Adriana Mira, underscored the significance of this training, stating, «This effort is fundamental to continue strengthening El Salvador’s strategies in the fight against corruption.» Mira’s remarks highlight the government’s dedication to not only adhering to international standards but also enhancing its own mechanisms for transparency and accountability.

The training workshop is designed to enhance the capacities of participants, ensuring they are well-prepared for upcoming evaluations and capable of implementing best practices in combating corruption. By engaging with international standards and collaborative approaches, El Salvador is taking decisive steps to improve its governance and uphold the integrity of its public institutions.

As the workshop progresses, it is expected to yield substantial benefits for the nation’s anti-corruption landscape, fortifying El Salvador’s position as a proactive and responsible participant in global anti-corruption efforts.
