The Ministry of Tourism (Mitur) has announced that the renovation of El Boquerón National Park is progressing, in collaboration with the Salvadoran Tourism Corporation (Corsatur). The initiative aims to improve the experience for both national and international tourists.
Recently, the Ministry held consultations with business owners and licensed tour guides to discuss infrastructure updates that will make the park more accessible for visitors of all ages.
Currently, the park features a safe playground for young children, allowing them to explore and play while adults enjoy the surrounding landscape. Additionally, there is a private and comfortable breastfeeding room for mothers who need to feed their babies.
A series of art murals are also on display throughout the park, promoting the natural beauty of the area.
In a recent statement, the Ministry of Tourism announced plans to open a camping area soon, offering families the chance to enjoy the pleasant climate while connecting with nature.
This modernization effort responds to the growing demand for parks and public spaces due to the tourism boom the country is experiencing. During the recent August holidays alone, over 2.5 million national and international visitors were recorded in these recreational areas, according to data from the Salvadoran Institute of Tourism (ISTU).
