El Salvador Surpasses $1.99 Billion in Property Sales in 2024.

The National Registry Center (CNR) of El Salvador has reported that the real estate sector has generated over $1.99 billion in property transactions so far in 2024. This impressive figure was revealed by Camilo Trigueros, Executive Director of the CNR, during Monday’s session of the Legislative Assembly’s Infrastructure and Territorial Development Commission.

“These are record numbers,” Trigueros stated, noting that 64,856 real estate transactions have been completed to date, out of the more than 122,000 projected for the end of the year.

The term “compraventa” refers to transactions where a property, whether developed or just land, changes ownership. Trigueros emphasized that these transactions must involve a set price, otherwise, they may fall under categories such as donations, inheritances, or foreclosure settlements.

In previous years, CNR handled 124,806 transactions in 2022 and 120,853 in 2023, a trend largely driven by the construction sector’s growth.
