As part of the commercial diplomacy strategies promoted by President Nayib Bukele’s government, the Salvadoran Embassy in Sweden has enabled the introduction of Salvadoran food products in two of Sweden’s largest supermarket chains: Hemköp and ICA.

Thanks to the commercial efforts of the embassy and the collaboration with the company Lalos Säljservice, Salvadoran products such as Boquitas Diana, Kolashampan sodas, horchata, chocolate, packaged and canned goods like jalapeños, flours, and ground beans are now available.
These Salvadoran food products can be found in six supermarkets in the Stockholm region: Ica Kvantum Upplands Väsby, Hemköp Huvudstad, Ica Supermarket Vårberg Centrum, Ica Supermarket Brandbergen, and Hemköp Farsta Centrum.
Salvadoran Ambassador to Sweden, Patricia Godínez, highlighted this commercial endeavor that opens up the Swedish market. «Now it is possible to taste Salvadoran flavors more than 9,000 kilometers from our country, in the kingdom of Sweden. Today, thanks to President Nayib Bukele’s leadership and the collaboration from our embassy in Sweden, we are placing Salvadoran products in two of Sweden’s largest supermarket chains.»
Lalos Säljservice AB has announced that the sale of Salvadoran products has been a success, with demand exceeding expectations, and they are already negotiating a second order.
In this process, the Salvadoran products that have the greatest impact among the diaspora have been selected to expand their placement in other Swedish supermarkets. «For President Nayib Bukele’s administration, in this second term, strengthening the economy is of great importance. That is why we are opening doors to extend the destinations of our exports,» added the Salvadoran diplomat.
