El Salvador, once one of the most violent nations with the highest death rates in the world, has transformed into the safest country in the Western Hemisphere under the leadership of President Nayib Bukele.
Fox News reporter Sara Carter highlighted these positive changes, emphasizing the immense transformation the country has undergone. “El Salvador has been reborn, emerging from the ashes of its crime-ridden past. It is a nation of extraordinary beauty where mountainous jungles, once a canopy of refuge for ruthless gangs and guerrillas, are now traversed by farmers harvesting coffee beans,” Carter stated.
During her visit to El Salvador for Bukele’s second presidential inauguration, Carter personally witnessed the positive changes the country has experienced. She observed that Salvadoran citizens are now living in a crime-free environment with increasing developmental opportunities.
“From the moment I landed in San Salvador, I could see a radical change since my last visit a few years ago: people walked casually through the streets without fear, cafes were bustling, and children played outside,” Carter noted.
Carter also expressed her hope that the United States could capitalize on these positive changes in El Salvador. Under Bukele’s administration, the country has projected itself internationally as a prime location for investment, international cooperation, and bilateral development between nations.
Currently, various security policies, such as the Territorial Control Plan and the state of emergency, have resulted in 16 days without homicides in July and a total of 149 crime-free days in 2024.
