GastroLab, SurfCity: Transforming Lives Through Culinary Excellence.

El Salvador’s Ministry of Tourism proudly announces the success of the GastroLab, SurfCity program, a transformative initiative aimed at changing lives through gastronomy. In collaboration with the United Nations World Food Programme, GastroLab trains future chefs, offering them a unique educational journey enriched by the Wine Dinner experience.

Gastronomy is paving new paths, especially for those facing educational barriers. Oscar Aguilar, President of the “Chef for the World” foundation, highlights how the Wine Dinner events create invaluable experiences and opportunities for the young talents of GastroLab.

Chef Lía Mayoral, along with GastroLab students, recently planned, prepared, and hosted the ninth Wine Dinner, welcoming both national and international diners. This event not only showcased their culinary skills but also underscored the program’s role in opening doors for many young individuals to the world of cooking and gastronomy.

GastroLab, SurfCity is not just a training program; it’s a life-changing initiative. Through comprehensive culinary education, it equips young people with the skills and opportunities needed to join and enrich the tourism value chain. As they step into the culinary world, these young chefs are set to make a significant impact on the future of El Salvador’s tourism and gastronomy sectors.
