El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele has commenced his second term with a robust 92% approval rating, underscoring his rising popularity among the Salvadoran people and cementing his status as the most prominent leader in Latin America.

The latest report from CID Gallup, released via a post on X, revealed: «We present the results of our latest survey conducted in May 2024. Presidential Approval Ratings. Percentage of citizens approving their leaders in each country.» According to the report, President Nayib Bukele leads the approval rankings with a remarkable 92%. He is followed by Luis Abinader of the Dominican Republic, who holds a 66% approval rating, and Costa Rica’s President Rodrigo Chaves, with a 55% approval rating.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, the report highlights the lowest presidential approval ratings. Peru’s President Dina Boluarte is at the bottom with just 6% approval, followed by Panama’s President Laurentino Cortizo, who has a 12% approval rating.

These figures illustrate Bukele’s significant support compared to his regional counterparts and reflect his strong connection with the Salvadoran populace as he embarks on his second term in office.
