El Salvador Debuts Nationwide Program to Elevate Economic Literacy.

The Superintendence of the Financial System (SSF) and the Directorate of Social Fabric inaugurated the «Super Finance to the CUBE» program last Thursday. This initiative will bring financial education to communities through the network of eleven Urban Centers of Well-being and Opportunities (CUBES) distributed throughout the country.

The inauguration event took place at the CUBE in the Zacamil neighborhood, located in Mejicanos, and was attended by the head of the SSF, Evelyn Gracias, and the director of Social Fabric, Carlos Marroquín, as well as representatives from institutions that are part of the National Council for Financial Inclusion and Education (CNIEF).

The superintendent emphasized that this interinstitutional alliance is part of the coordinated work carried out by President Nayib Bukele’s government to benefit Salvadorans by strengthening their skills in managing their personal finances, which will in turn improve the economy of their households or businesses.

She also highlighted the importance of financial culture in improving people’s quality of life.

«The challenge is for every family to make the best use of these financial resources so that they are not only focused on consumption,» said the official, referring to families receiving remittances.

The workshops will be conducted by financial education specialists from the SSF, who will guide participants toward the development of healthy financial habits. Some topics that will be covered include personal finance, proper use of financial products and services, and investment for my future.
