President Bukele’s recent announcement of an initiative to enlist qualified foreign experts has stirred excitement and anticipation in El Salvador. The strategy, aimed at leveraging expertise across various fields, underscores the government’s commitment to advancing the nation’s development and progress.
Christian Aparicio, the National Director of Higher Education at the Ministry of Education (Mined), revealed on Sunday the forthcoming compilation of a comprehensive list comprising “teachers, students, and researchers” for President Nayib Bukele’s recent international call promising citizenship to specialists who contribute to El Salvador’s enrichment.
In a remarkable display of enthusiasm, Aparicio disclosed that within less than 24 hours, the nation had garnered significant interest from professionals vying for one of the 5,000 complimentary Salvadoran passports slated for distribution by the government.
“Higher Education will submit to Immigration and Foreign Affairs a formal list of teachers, students, and researchers meeting President Nayib Bukele’s criteria within the next 2 weeks. We have already received over 400 applicants in less than 24 hours,” Aparicio conveyed through his X account.
Furthermore, he affirmed a commitment to diligently scrutinizing applicants’ profiles to ensure alignment with the President’s outlined objectives and plans.
President Bukele’s announcement, made last night, promises 5,000 complimentary passports to highly skilled experts across diverse domains. These individuals, through their expertise and proposed initiatives, are poised to contribute significantly to El Salvador’s continued journey towards development.
This initiative not only highlights El Salvador’s openness to global talent but also signifies a proactive step towards harnessing external expertise to fuel the nation’s progress. As the nation eagerly awaits the influx of skilled professionals, anticipation for the transformative impact of this initiative runs high.
