El Salvador Champions Local Entrepreneurial Ideas.

Last Wednesday, the national semifinal of the Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC) took place, organized in El Salvador by the Ministry of Economy. Creativity and innovation took center stage at the 2023-2024 Entrepreneurship World Cup semifinal, held last Wednesday at the National Institute of Training and Training (Incaf).

Approximately 15 entrepreneurs participated in this phase of the competition, organized by the Ministry of Economy (Minec) in partnership with the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN). At the event, Salvadorans presented their ideas to a specialized jury and were rigorously evaluated in three categories: Idea, Early Stage, and Growth.

The projects advancing to the national final, set for March 20, were announced.

In the Idea category, Botblaze and Lili App were selected; in the Early Stage category, Recircular App and Dloop; and in Growth, Beelder and Matteo App.

Minec’s head, María Luisa Hayem, thanked the 87 strategic partners in the country’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem who contributed to the initiative during the event.

She also encouraged entrepreneurs not to give up on their ideas and to seek to strengthen them with the support provided by the government.

“We congratulate all the participants and invite them to continue strengthening their entrepreneurship and taking advantage of all the support that the government offers. We invite you to keep going, not to stop, to believe in yourselves and in what you are capable of achieving,” she noted.

Minec, Organizer of the Competition

For the fourth consecutive year, Minec has organized the national competition in four categories, including projects in the idea phase, others in consolidation, and others in sales growth and business scalability.

Additionally, the cup comprises a national stage, determining the most potential entrepreneurial ventures, and culminates in a final to select the representative of El Salvador who can compete in the international phase.
