Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Directorate of Cultural, Sports, and Gastronomic Promotion, has received a substantial donation of 83 books from the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco. This generous contribution aims to enhance the cultural exchange between Morocco and El Salvador, solidifying their cooperative efforts.
The donation, comprising a diverse range of topics, was coordinated with the Moroccan Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and African Cooperation, serving as the gracious donors of these literary works. The books are intended to become integral components of the National Library of El Salvador (BINAES), enriching its collection and broadening the cultural horizons of its patrons.
Brahim Baddi, Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in El Salvador, personally handed over the books to Jessica Aguilar, Director of Cultural, Sports, and Gastronomic Promotion at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Baddi emphasized that the donation is part of the ongoing cultural cooperation between Morocco and El Salvador, covering a spectrum of subjects including tourism, culture, and literature for children. The books are available in French, Spanish, and English, reflecting the embassy’s commitment to diverse linguistic and cultural experiences.
“The collaboration between Morocco and El Salvador in the cultural domain is exemplified through this donation. Our aim is to ensure that Morocco is well-represented in the National Library, fostering mutual understanding and appreciation of each other’s rich heritage,” stated Mr. Baddi.
In response, Director Jessica Aguilar expressed her appreciation for the support, highlighting the significance of international literature in the National Library. “Since learning about the National Library’s openness to literature from other countries, we have been coordinating with the Ministry of Culture, as we are the recipients of these valuable books from abroad,” remarked Director Aguilar.
This cultural exchange initiative marks a meaningful step in strengthening the bonds of friendship between Morocco and El Salvador, encouraging a deeper appreciation of each other’s cultural heritage and fostering a broader understanding among the citizens of both nations.
